A Brief Guide to Hallmarks

You may have noticed that our new lines now feature some extra markings on the inside of the band besides the usual '925' that you typically see on a Dixi ring. These markings are common on vintage and fine jewellery and aren't just serial numbers or for inventory - these markings tell specific stories about your precious jewellery, and will continue to do so for years and years to come.

Where we can decipher the marks on our vintage rings we like to note in the product descriptions where they were made, what the material is and a year. We think this adds to the story of the piece and we’d love to share the knowledge with you.

Above is an example of our modern 9ct gold Silvestre rings. Below is an example of an antique hallmarked band.
